At the end of a long hot day, we’re now at Tawonga South. The view of Mt Bogong was beautiful… not as beautiful as the swim in the river once we got to the holiday park. Freezing cold, mountain fresh water. A great way to cool off.
Forecast for the ride is still looking iffy – either stinking hot or bucketing rain.
My first Donna Buang ride was a couple of weeks ago – I think I peaked too early. It was a beautiful day without a cloud in the sky, avg of about 24 degrees, and barely needed a second layer for the descent… this weekend was a bit different. It was 7.2 degrees most of the way up. The descent was hellish – numb fingers after about 30 seconds, and an ice-cream headache – without the ice cream… great ride again though, with a good bunch of blokes. And the sausage told with sauce at the bottom were well deserved…

Spanner crab omelette & slow cooked eggs with falafel and smoked tomato aioli. Delicious. The place was busy, but the spag were efficient and the wait for a seat was quite short. They’re expanding into next door and opening an evening venue which should be interesting.
